The Noir Gangs

We have done with our filming. It’s us in the picture above, the directors, make-up artists, casts, photographers and etc. We just multi-tasked within the group members to finish this filming on time.

The full film has came out really well. We were so happy to see our hard work which had turned really good. The scenes have fulfilled the cult concept needs as well. Lighting effects have given a big plus point to some of the scenes in the film.

Through out the filming process, I personally learned that to produce a great and good quality work, team work is really needed in every group. It is impossible for us to work in peace if we don’t agree on each others ideas. We should learn to listen and accept ones opinion when given to create a strong bond within your team mates. Now that’s the secret of a team’s success !

Production 02 - Fourth Production Report

Me and my group have finished with our final filming session. This filming session took place at my group member Vivian’s apartment room.

We used dim lights for this scene since we wanted it to give thrilling effect. We used about 2 hours to finish filming this scene.

we have successfully finished with our filming tasks. Feeling so relieved and happy that we have managed to do it till the end with no problems.

Production 02 - Third Production Report

Since most of us were about to leave to hometowns for Christmas holidays, we didn’t wanted to delay any filming. So we decided to choose a day before two of our group members leave to hometown to proceed with our filming. We went to our group member My father’s office to continue with some of the scenes which has to be filmed there at 3am. We managed to finish our filming within 2 hours.

Finally after 2 hours, my part was done. We finished filming what ever remaining scenes which has to filmed at the office.

Production 02 - Second Production Report

The ones who are in the picture below are all my group member Vivian’s friends who are staying in the same apartment as her. They helped us to act in this film as reporters.

We went to my friend’s tuition center to film our main character’s childhood role scenes.














We also managed to get team work from the students we met there. They agreed to be in the film and they even understood clearly what we told them to do. It was not difficult at all to handle them. The filming process which took place there went smoothly with no having any issues with the children there. They all co-operated well with us during the filming session.

Production 02 - Contextual Approach

We and my group members tried out some shots which we referred to the references images I have posted up. It was quite difficult to capture the perfect shot for this scene. After several attempts, we got some good shots of it. We tried to make this scene look very deep in showing someone getting abused.

Production 01 - Second Production Report

Today we did a short trial make-up for the murderer’s look for the film.
We referred to our previous references images which I have already posted up earlier in my blog. 

We took those reference images as for our murderer’s make-up reference. 

Here is the final look of the murderer’s make-up ! Since our film’s cult is “The Black Lips”, the murderer must wear a black lipstick. For the black lips effect, we tried using dark red lipstick applied and when we took some test shots the effect of it was quite nice in noir captures.By the way am I cool ? hahahahahaha

Whenever the murderer is planning to kill someone, I wear black make up, black lipstick, black nail polish and black dress.

Production 01 - Production Report

We tried applying thick make-up because most of the scenes in the film is going to be in dim light spot. So, to show our faces much more perfect in the shots we applied thick make-ups.

Production 01 - Contextual Approach

This is the make up scene for the killer , that's me :)

I used a very red lipstick so that it turn to more darker when we transfer to noir style.

These scene was when we were filming our main character, My childhood scenes. We used black eyeliner pencils to draw lines on the child’s hands to produce beaten marks. After drawing the lines, we then rubbed it to give a natural look of ‘beaten marks’ on the child’s skin.

Pictures above are shows how the effect came out for the beaten marks on the skin after finishing putting on the marks. The marks looked really real in noir captures.

This above picture was taken while we were taking some test shots for our filming. We placed torch lights before our subject in a really dark room so that our subject can be seen in a shadow kind of look. For example, picture above.

We are trying to do different types of lighting for our noir filming but we are just going to use them for selected scenes only. We have discussed to use the type of lighting shown above during any thrilling scenes.

These images could be a very good samples of shots where we could use as an example for the test shots we take.
